Christine Liebich

Christine Liebich is an artist based in Germany, working primarily with metal and concrete to create solid and impactful compositions. Growing up on a farm near Landshut, she was interested in manual skills such as welding and soldering, and used her knowledge to develop her own formal language. Her compositions have a distinct clarity and airiness which conceals the laborious processes of their making. Despite the density and heaviness of the industrial materials, there is a sense of delightful and sometimes playful geometry in her works.
